Diigo Bookmarking

Diigo, a method for social book-marking allows users to attach sticky notes of highlight parts of a webpage to specific highlights of other parts of a whole page. Diigo provides a social book-marking method, utilizing metadata of any sort in any media to manage, search, and organize bookmarks, or store data for Internet users.

Diigo’s list of organized tags in social book-marking web feeds, allow for subscriber awareness of new bookmarks as they are tagged, shared, and saved by other users. In their book-marking system you may allocate what you remember and/or share publicly, allowing for saved private works, sharing only with specified people or group particular content inside certain networks, or other combinations of private and public domains. The bookmarks are usually categorized, tagged, and in chronological, or in search engine order i.e. Alta Vista, Ask!, or Google.

Diigo’s social book-marking became more popular after having added extra social networking capabilities such as importing and exporting of bookmarks from browsers, emailing of bookmarks, and commenting and rating these bookmarks.
